GEO across Chinese AI platforms: interfaces, language and buying context

Start cross-model monitoring with the buyer’s situation: which interface, language and constraints shape the question? Record those differences before choosing prompts, content and retest scope, so that unlike conditions are not compared as if they were the same.

The earlier draft's published list: DeepSeek, Kimi, Qwen, GLM, Doubao, MiniMax, ERNIE Bot.

See the full list (including Global) at /en/facts/models-monitored/.

Scope boundary: being listed as a monitoring target does not mean every project has connected to every API. Specific models, versions, web-search capability, and sampling methods depend on actual configuration and project agreement; API sampling is also not equivalent to the full consumer-interface experience. In procurement, ask the vendor to state item by item the difference between "on the list" and "actually connected in this project".

Operational notes

Follows the earlier draft's five notes, with added fact-governance emphasis:

  1. Language and question framing: build separate baselines for Chinese category questions and English questions; do not mix them and then claim year-over-year comparison.
  2. Fact-source consistency: Chinese and English sites, e-commerce main-image price, and flagship specs must be canonically aligned; otherwise you more easily end in a "misstated" outcome.
  3. Channel pages: when dealer price and platform price conflict, do fact governance before changing content.
  4. Retest grouping: report CN and Global groups separately for the three layers of mention / shortlist / accurate recommendation.
  5. Crawler readability: content should be accessible to public crawlers (per your own site policy); your site should self-audit rather than copy someone else's robots.

Fact-source checklist (example)

  • Chinese canonical fact pages: brand definition, flagship specs, price validity period, after-sales boundaries.
  • Align e-commerce main site and flagship store prices, and record the owner and update date.
  • Comparison / selection Chinese FAQ with verifiable reasons and no exaggeration.
  • Keep crawlable for public crawlers (per your site policy).
  • Retest CN model group on a cycle, in a separate table from Global.

Example (example only, not a real case): a brand's Chinese site says "flagship model 4,999 yuan", the e-commerce main image says "4,599 yuan final", and the flagship spec page mentions "previous-generation chip". When all three pages are retrieved at once, the model is more likely to produce a misstatement. In procurement, check whether the vendor has a process for such conflicts, rather than a promise that "it will always be right".

What to ask vendors during selection

Follows the earlier draft's selection questions, with additions:

  • Does it explicitly list Doubao / DeepSeek / Kimi / Qwen / GLM / MiniMax / ERNIE Bot?
  • Are raw answers archived, and can they be drilled down by "question x model x time"?
  • Does it support same-condition retesting and approval-gated execution?
  • Does the report separate the four layers of crawled / indexed / cited / recommended?
  • When Chinese and English facts conflict, is there a fact-governance process?

What this guide does not claim

Follows the earlier draft's boundaries, with three additions:

  • It does not claim one Chinese model is "better", and gives no undisclosed market share.
  • It does not invent models outside the list, and does not treat user-agent names as model identity.
  • It does not guarantee entry into any model's shortlist or recommendation slot.
  • It does not claim a channel cited your brand unless there is a verifiable monitoring record.
  • It does not equate "allowing a crawler" with "being recommended".

FAQ

Q: Is Doubao alone enough? A: It depends on the set of assistants your customers actually use; build the model group by business region rather than covering only one.

Q: Are Chinese fact pages mandatory? A: Strongly recommended for Chinese-language question scenarios; interlink them with English facts and avoid contradictions.

Q: Can API sampling represent the consumer experience? A: Not fully. API sampling may differ from consumer interfaces; reports should note the sampling method and model version.

Q: If a model is on the vendor's list, does that mean this project covers it? A: No. Ask the vendor to state actual connection item by item and put it into the project agreement.

Closing

If a team watches only ChatGPT while Doubao and DeepSeek keep showing wrong prices or omitting the brand, management will see a split: "overseas looks fine, domestic out of control". Using /en/facts/models-monitored/ as the single source of truth for monitoring scope avoids verbal additions and removals of models. More importantly, write scope and fact-governance process into procurement requirements, rather than buying a list alone.
