Quick answer
Start with the links in a specific answer and check each claim against the source, author and applicable conditions.
A technical community, Q&A site, encyclopedia, official account or company website is a source category, not a credibility verdict. Record retrieval, citation and recommendation separately. Reposts of one article on several domains do not automatically provide independent evidence.

Do not substitute a platform list for a citation audit
If a sample contains CSDN, Tencent Cloud's developer community, Zhihu, an encyclopedia or a WeChat public-account article, record the actual page and the sentence it is supposed to support. A domain appearing in a sample does not establish a general model preference. Channels observed in Chinese answers also do not determine where English export content should be published.
Use the following as audit categories, not a fixed account of which sources AI prefers.
Source type
What to inspect
Action the brand can consider
Official website or owned account
Identity, valid version, conditions and public evidence
Correct facts it controls and retain their sources
Tutorial or developer community
Author, subject, version and supporting material
Prepare verifiable explanations for relevant technical questions
Q&A or experience report
Personal experience, brand-authored content or independent analysis
Check context and respond transparently with supportable facts
Encyclopedia or definition
Separation of concepts from brand claims; valid references
Verify identity and facts without treating a definition as approval
Review, comparison or trade article
Author relationships, method and scope of evidence
Supply public material while respecting independent conclusions
Repost or compilation
Original article, edits and update date
Trace the original and identify dependent copies
Establish a claim-to-source relationship
Retain the answer and citation markers, open each source and locate the passage supporting the claim. Record the answer claim, source passage, subject, conditions and audit result. Useful labels are supported, partially supported, conflicting and no supporting passage found.
If a page cannot be opened, mark it unverifiable. A displayed search result or URL in the prose is not automatically a citation supporting a sentence. A paragraph-end link also needs a sentence-by-sentence check.
Classify authorship and control, not just domains
A brand article on a community platform may still be owned expression. A new domain does not transform it into an independent assessment. Check the author, attribution, original source and disclosed relationships, then distinguish owned, independent and unknown relationships.
For reposts, keep each observed citation alongside the common original. These may be separate distribution locations, but counting domains alone cannot establish multiple independent supports. If the original or relationship is unclear, retain that uncertainty.
Convert the audit into a bounded maintenance task
Work backwards from relevant buying or technical questions to the public information needed. Owned content can be updated after fact confirmation. For other authors' work, supply correction evidence or public material without fabricating independent reviews, user experiences or unsupported conclusions.
After an update, record citations and answers again using the same questions and interfaces. Report observed changes rather than treating publishing volume, repost locations or a single citation as a recommendation guarantee. See the existing

Common questions
Q: How should a brand audit citations from technical communities?
A: Open the specific article and identify the answer claim, technical subject and version it supports. Prepare a public explanation or correction only after identifying a relevant evidence gap; the domain alone is not a distribution strategy.
Q: How do we distinguish owned content from independent evidence in AI citations?
A: Inspect authorship, original attribution and control of the content. Separate brand accounts, reposts and independent authors, and label unclear relationships as unknown rather than judging by platform name.
Q: Does an AI citation mean a brand endorsement?
A: Check what the cited passage supports; it may provide only a definition or background. Supplier inclusion, recommendation reasons and factual accuracy need separate observations.
Q: Do reposts on several domains count as independent evidence?
A: Retain the separate citation locations and their relationship to the original article. Independence depends on the sources and evidence, not the number of domains carrying the same material.
